Where is all our red, white, the star and the crescent???

Is it me or the national day fever has not reach our heartland yet. Citing the fact that the HDB block where I am staying has only 1 flat flying our national color on its façade, with less than 3 weeks to our nation big 45 birthdays. I took a walk around my neighborhood and indeed notice our flag are sparsely spotted on its façade with much felt regret, how much has our society retrograded in nationalism, many independent voices in the blogsphere lampooning on the lax immigration policy and poor population planning, high cost of living, government blaming the citizen for being ungrateful, poor handling of the flooding, statements by the law minister over a convicted drug offender, high handedness treatment by the police to a journalist and subsequent statement citing the journalist was in the wrong, safety concerns due recent murder and robbery case, minister nonchalant attitude over budget on the YOG and etc…… and sadly to say what those voice saying were not entirely unfounded.

Recently alot of peoples incluing 2 PJC student tries to end it all by jumping off a building, but suicide does not change anything, your life may have ended but in the process you also destory the lives of the people that love you. Just look at Vernon Leong & Kerin Peh, their parent, sibling, relatives and friend must be devastated with their losses.
